Terms of Service
Short version: use Musubi kindly, don't abuse it, and we'll keep it running for you. We wrote this to be read, not to trap you.
The service.
Musubi is a shared calendar app for small, trusted groups. By using it you agree to these terms.

By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Musubi.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Brno, Czech Republic.
Your account.
Keep your credentials safe. You're responsible for activity on your account. You must be 16 or older to use Musubi.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Musubi. By creating an account you confirm you meet this requirement.
You may only create one account per person. Accounts are personal and non-transferable.
Acceptable use.
Use Musubi for what it's for. Don't try to harm others or the service.
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm others
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data or our systems
- Use the Service for spam, automated scraping, or abuse
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Reverse-engineer the Service beyond what the MIT license already permits
We may suspend accounts that breach these rules. We'll try to warn you first unless the breach is serious or ongoing.
Your content.
Your calendar events are yours. We only store them to run the service. You can export or delete them at any time.
You own your content. By using Musubi you grant us a limited license to store and sync your content solely to operate the Service.
We do not claim any ownership over your events, notes, or attachments. Our use of your content is described in our Privacy Policy.
You can export your calendars as standard .ics files from the app at any time. When you delete your account, we delete your content within 30 days.
Subscription & payments.
Musubi has a real free tier — no gimmicks. Optional subscriptions unlock visual extras. You can cancel any time.
Free tier
Core features of Musubi are free. No trial period, no paywall for the basics.
Paid subscription
An optional paid subscription is planned for a future release. It will unlock visual customisation — custom icons, color palettes, and other cosmetic extras. All core features of Musubi remain free. Prices will be announced in-app before any subscription launches.
In the future, if server costs require it, free accounts may be subject to reasonable limits on the number of calendars or depth of event history. Any such limits will be introduced with at least 90 days notice.
Cancellation & refunds
Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through the App Store or Google Play. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds follow the refund policy of the respective platform (Apple App Store or Google Play).
Price changes
We'll give you at least 30 days notice before changing subscription prices.
Open source.
The Musubi app and server are MIT-licensed. You're free to self-host, fork, and modify. The only ask is keeping the copyright notice.
Musubi's source code is published at github.com/f-tuma/musubi under the MIT License. The MIT License governs your use of the source code; these Terms govern your use of the hosted Service.
Running your own instance means you operate it under your own terms and are responsible for its operation.
Availability.
We aim for high uptime but can't promise it. If we need to shut down, we'll give you time to export your data.
We work hard to keep Musubi available but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, add or remove features, or experience outages.
If we ever decide to shut down the Service, we will give at least 90 days notice and provide a way for you to export your data before closure.
Liability.
We're a small team doing our best. If something goes wrong, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the past 12 months.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or €50, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory Czech or EU law that cannot be waived by contract.
Termination.
You can delete your account any time from the app. We can suspend accounts that seriously breach these terms.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app. We'll delete your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. For minor breaches we'll warn you first. For serious violations (illegal activity, significant harm to others) we may act immediately.
Changes to these terms.
We'll tell you before meaningful changes take effect. Continuing to use Musubi means you accept the updated terms.
We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the app and, where required by law, by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continuing to use Musubi after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
